What’s On at UK Coffee Week 2017
UK Coffee Week is now in its 7th year and will run from the 10 – 16th of April 2017. Here we take a look at this year’s celebration including why your coffee shop or establishment should get involved.
UK Coffee Week is a nationwide fundraising campaign encouraging establishments to raise money for Project Waterfall – a charity dedicated on bringing clean water and sanitation to coffee-growing communities. This year, thousands of establishments including coffee shops, restaurants and bars will be participating to raise funds. The list includes big chains, Starbucks, Costa and Caffe Nero, as well as smaller independents such as Batch & Co, Second Shot and Federation Coffee.
We’ve had a quick look around to see how establishments are celebrating UK Coffee Week and raising money for Project Waterfall – see them below!
Edinburgh-based coffee and doughnut shop – Baba Budan Coffee – have cooked up a batch of delicious Mocha-filled doughnuts made using tasty Square Mile Coffee. These will be sold throughout UK Coffee Week with 10% of each sale being donated to charity.
Origin Coffee Roasters are offering ‘Zero Water Flights’ at their Shoreditch and British Library locations. The beverage is made using Origin Coffee’s Special Edition Limoncello Natural, a half filter, piccolo and a single shot of espresso. Grab one for £5 with £1 of each sale going to Project Waterfall.
Alternatively, if you’re in need of a drink and energy boost, Be At One Bar is serving up espresso martinis made using Absolut vodka, Kahlua, fresh espresso and sugar syrup.
UK Coffee Week is a fantastic opportunity to raise funds for a noteworthy cause and to gain exposure and spread awareness of your coffee shop’s involvement. Establishments who wish to participate must pay a £25 registration fee, which covers quality-branded material sent out by the UK Coffee Week Team. The team will also offer support where needed including across social media platforms.
We look forward to seeing what next year’s UK Coffee Week brings!
