We’re delighted to be collaborating with Lingfield College once again, following our involvement on the successful transformation of their Senior School canteen.

For this next phase, Lingfield College approached us after identifying an opportunity to improve the transition from Senior School into Sixth Form. With the Senior School canteen already transformed into a warm and inviting space, the existing Sixth Form canteen no longer reflected the same level of comfort, quality or impact.

Our aim was to create a space that bridges the gap between school and university life. A mature, welcoming and inspiring environment where students can enjoy a greater sense of independence, while still feeling connected to the wider school community.

The interiors create a warm, mature and university-inspired Sixth Form environment. Natural timber, deep teal, soft terracotta and terrazzo-style finishes bring warmth and visual interest, while varied seating, acoustic ceiling features and planting help the space feel flexible, comfortable and inviting.

The introduction of booth huts helped transform the canteen into more than just a place to eat, creating semi-enclosed areas where students can study, socialise and spend time between lessons. Alongside this, a range of seating styles has been incorporated throughout the design, from long communal tables to booth seating and relaxed breakout areas, ensuring the space feels flexible, inclusive and comfortable for different student needs.

Our design team also placed careful emphasis on balancing acoustics and aesthetics. Through considered ceiling features, wall treatments and soft finishes, the space has been designed to feel dynamic and engaging while remaining comfortable for everyday use.

The final design brings warmth, energy and maturity to the Sixth Form canteen, creating a space that reflects the next stage of student life at Lingfield College.
