The Village Centre

The Village Centre is a community centre housed in an old Church, in a small village in Surrey. We were approached for our expertise in design and coffee shop fitout to overhaul their current offering that had been crudely expanded over a period of years.

Having previously had a bad experience with contractors, the board had imposed strict rules on the way in which fitout was able to be conducted. We embarked upon an interior design that had to be sympathetic to the Church building and make no impact on the fabric of the building at all but also would achieve the operational efficiency that they needed.

We designed an entire shop to be entirely free-standing and self supporting including the services run within them. Once approved, we manufactured all front counters, back counters and furniture to the specification. We even renewed some original church pews which were required to be kept as a condition of the refurbishment.

The interior design of the Village Centre coffee shop is a thoughtfully crafted, entirely free-standing solution that harmonises with the historic church building, maintaining its integrity while enhancing operational efficiency and creating a calm, welcoming space.

The outcome was a sympathetic refurbishment, bringing relaxing and calming elements into an original historic building. The space has been well received by the community and by all accounts is a great success.
